• Only use approaches that you see on this map. This map takes precedence over all other publications.
  • Rappel routes when possible in order to minimize erosion.
  • Avoid using picnic blankets, hammocks, etc. Stay on the trails: the vegetation will thank you.
  • Boulder fields are especially protected: please do not enter.
  • Limit raised voices to necessary climbing commands: excess noise disturbs people and animals.
  • Do not climb on closed routes: breeding birds are very susceptible to disturbance.
  • Bolts may only be placed in consultation with the Battert Working Group.
  • Please keep climbing groups to six people or less.
  • Do not lower or toprope directly through the anchor bolt: use it only for rappelling.
  • Do not occupy routes with lengthy toproping sessions.
  • Do not chip or enhance holds.
  • Use as little chalk as possible.
  • Please take garbage with you, including cigarette butts.
  • Please no dry-tooling in rock climbing routes.
  • Please do not attach slacklines between trees and do not attach highlines to bolts.
  • Please also observe the other rules of this nature reserve (signs on site).
